Pantry moth or Indian meal moth (Interpunctella)
Indian meal moth is a common pest of stored grains pulses and rice. They are sometime referred to as Pantry moths because of their common occurance in the pantry. They have destinct colour bands across there wings when at rest, made up of a copper colour on the ends, a destinct narrow dark band in the middle and a pale brown towards the head. The lures are highly attractive and active for up to 2 months. Hang a minimum of 1 trap per 200L (100cm x 100cm x 20cm) of space in a pantry situation or 1 trap/1m3 of open space in a commercial storage situation.
